Candy Heart Measurement

Hey guys! This is Ashley from Flying High in First Grade.
I don't know about you, but I can't believe it's already February! This is 1 of my favorite months because you can incorporate so many of the holidays into your teaching! Groundhog Day, President's Day, Valentine's Day! But my favorite is Valentine's Day! So here is a little activity to add to your students math centers for the week!

Cut out different size hearts out of construction paper. Make sure each heart is a different color. Then buy the fun little conversation hearts. I actually like to buy them right after Valentine's in bulk. They are always on sale! Then I have them for next year!

Anyways, cut out different shape hearts then have the students use the conversation hearts to do a fun area activity! They will predict which one will hold the most and least, measure them, then record the actual heart that held the most and least. Click on the picture below for the freebie!
